Welcome!

Why start the Low-Budget Bride's Planning Guide?

There are many factors that have led to the website you see before you.

1) I love event planning. I have wanted to publicize my abilities as an event coordinator - as well as share my tips with other aspiring coordinators - for a long time, and finally found the outlet to do so. Most of the events I plan have smaller budgets, so one of my strengths is getting the most out of every dollar (hence the "thrifty tips" section in each post).

2) I was inspired by the successful blogs started by many of my friends and sorority sisters. They have taken their passions and turned them into creative projects and businesses. Not only did this seem like a fun endeavor, but a potentially profitable one too.

3) I wanted to blog about my wedding so that I could share the experience with my friends and family, particularly those who are out of state. They can stop by the blog and read about what is going on at their leisure. This way everyone can stay informed without me having to bombard my facebook friends with status updates.

4) I love photography. I have some professional experience doing photography for a local consignment business, but I enjoy taking fun photos even more - both shooting them and posing for them. Many of the successful blogs I like to read are accompanied by great photography. This is where Olivia came in. I knew she would be a great partner as the in-house photographer. She's passionate about photography (right down to the camera tattooed on her index finger) and we are comparable in organization, creativity and work ethic; it was a perfect fit!

5) My fiancé has a video game streaming channel that takes up a good portion of his free time, so I wanted a project of my own during the times when we are both home, but doing our own thing. I could sit around watching Netflix, but I prefer to be more productive with my time, so why not pursue a new endeavor?

I hope you enjoy what you read in my blog. More than that, I hope you learn something that helps make any event planning in your life less stressful, and more fun.

Yours Truly,

Kimi
