You Are Doing A Great Job!
Hi friends!
While I have a collection of almost finished posts (coming live to you this month, finally), I thought I would take a moment tonight to share something that you might need to hear right now.
You are doing a great job! You are doing the best that you can with what you have.
It’s 8:15 p.m. and I had to tell myself this tonight because I needed to hear it. My son is sick. He puked all over both of us and the couch. While I was giving him a bath, the dog sat on the side of the couch with puke and somehow also knocked over my water bottle, which spilled and soaked the other half of the couch. My couch is covered in towels. I haven’t made dinner yet. But my baby is clean and sleeping, so that’s a win.
My schedule and work life are getting a huge makeover next week. It will be for the better (and actually have some blogging time blocked into it), but it will mean less time at home with my son and my dog (aka: my babies). Though I know the change is going to benefit my family a lot, it will still be an adjustment to see less of them on a daily basis, even though I’ll get more consecutive time on the weekends now (something I haven’t had in years). So, despite the challenges of a sick kid and a clumsy dog, I am trying to soak up (pun intended) all the moments - good, bad, and ugly - with them as much as I can for the next few days.
So why am I sharing all of this with you? Well, part of the changes with this blog format will include some lifestyle posts, in addition to tips related to events and budgeting. Just like many of the outdoor events I have coordinated that have been impacted by weather, you can’t control everything that happens in life. You can’t control rain creating mud puddles in your outdoor venue. You can’t control an unexpected emergency impacting your budget/savings. You can’t control projectile vomit all over all of the things because your one-year-old isn’t able to communicate that it’s about to happen. All you can do is the best you can do with what you have on your plate.
Looking forward to communicating more with you soon! Feel free to email lowbudgetbride@gmail.com with any suggestions for topics related to events, budgeting, Mom/Wife life and wardrobe/beauty tips that you would like to see on the blog this year.
And remember…you’re doing a great job!
